Beck Peterson

Beck Peterson

Guitar & Lead Vocalist

ABOUT BECK…

Beck was born in Southern California but moved to New York at the age of eleven. Beck began to play guitar just after he turned 13 and shortly thereafter started to write his own music and lyrics. Through his guitar teacher, Beck was introduced to his fellow band members and they formed The Bloody Knuckles, which eventually became The Press. Beck has been performing both solo shows and with the band since he was 14.

ACTIVISM SPARKED…

When Beck saw the footage from the Australian wildfires in 2019, he gained a greater understanding of the impact that global climate change was having on our planet. He knew he wanted to do something about this and he thought he could combine his passion for music with his passion to help others in need. Beck and a group of friends and fellow musicians organized a charity show where all of the proceeds would go to support the Australian wildlife that was injured during the fires. Since then, The Press has played a variety of charity fundraiser shows which has been a very fulfilling experience.

WHAT’S NEXT…

Beck plans to attend university to study Environmental Studies & Sustainability. While he may not know exactly what the future holds, he does know he hopes to find a career that will allow him to make this planet a better place for future generations.
